Planes on aircraft???

Post by ScottyG »

I cant get my planes on my carriers to launch (fighters will but none of my diver bombers and torpedo planes) and i trippled check current orders and all set to naval attack but just my fighters launch, what am i doing wrong??? I do vaguely remember something about planes wont launch and you have to go to pearl and something in there enables the planes to launch again???

I believe it was sorties if i remember correcly, i checked all my cv's and some of them still had sorties but there planes still wont launch??? Do i have to go to pearl to load up on sorties again. Can i go to syndy instead???

Hello Scotty,

Lots of possibilities here, may need some more info (mission attempted, screen shots always helpful, et.al.). Common causes;

Lack of sorties, as you noted will keep your ac on deck
Too many aircraft - overfilling your CVs will keep them on deck. I never stack more than 10% over capacity.
Not initiating the mission, this can be for various reasons, weather, poor leaders, no targets found, etc.

A little more detail will likely get us a better answer to your specific circumstance(s).

Check out page Section 20.1..2.2 on 287 of the manual where the re-arm table tells you where "sorties" can be added.

Sorties 500 y (level 8) y (level 7) (40 78 94 97 99-NS needed at smaller port levels) AE, AKE

This tells you that ports at level 7 or above and some smaller ones with degrees of NS can reload sorties. Also AKE and AE ammunition ships can help.

A screen shot will tell all.

Sound like a sortie problem. I beleive that the number of sorties has to be >= to the number of a/c trying to fly them. Sorties only apply to offensive missions, CAP and search are not affected.

You can rearm in any port capable of doing so, base size basically. Sortie rearm level is 500 so any port >7 can rearm. Any port <=6 requires help from naval support and/or AE/AKE. Note that AK/AKE can rearm on there own provided they have supply. Torps have similar rules but the rearm leavl is much greater at 1160. See page 287

on it's own a port size 1 on it's own canSee page
