YOU TWO FIGHT THIS OUT!

Cyr as the Russians!

Los take the Gremans!

Pis'sing Off the Guards..

(scen is on the scen page of this forum)

Los goes first! Get it on!

PBEM for 7.1*
*
A massive city melee*
*
January.21.1944*
*
Szekesfeherver 30km SW of Budapest, Hungary: *
*
This scenario deals with Operation Konrad. With the premature cancellation of Konrad II, the 4th SS Panzer-Korps deployed to the south of Szekesfeherver to try and relieve the Budapest Garrision from the south. With the rest of the 4th SS Panzer-Korps fighting a wild melee to the south, the 1st Panzer Division was tasked with capturing Szekesfeherver from the 69th Guards Rifle Division. Expecting heavy resistance the entire division was tasked with breaking into the city and freeing up the flank of the SS troopers. In the early hours of the 21st General Thunert broke his division into four "kampfgruppen" and ordered the attack on the dug-in Guardsmen. Within hours the city was a rubbled mess as both sides vied furiously for control of its now-ruined buildings.*

a strange occurance...

Post by Losqualo »

Still sitting in his Tiger, OLt Losqualo suddenly remembered why the name Col. Housley sounded so familiar. It all happened 1 1/2 years ago.

OLt Losqualo was sleeping in his tent when he suddenly woke up because of a voice, whispering in his ear. "Losqualo, wake up, it's me, Col. Housley!". Because of the american uniform OLt (only Lt at that time) Losqualo began to be worried and so he tried to get his Walter P38, hidden under his pillow.
"Don't worry", Col Housley said, "I may be wearing an american uniform, but I'm a double agent, normaly I work for Henschel, and I'm responsible for the quality control of our famous Tigers  )".
"So what do you want?" OLt Losqualo replied.
"We need you for a special assignment. We want to evaluate combat effectiveness of some of our newest weapon systems, and we need a commander with absolutely no combat experience."

As OLt Losqualo was remembering that night, he began to wonder what might have happened if he had accepted that proposal. But Col. Housley, though he really seemed to be a very nice guy ( :) ), still was a double agent and so OLt Losqualo still had some nagging doubts, and most of all some questions...

Back to real life

Well well, as son as the Cat is sleeping, the whole M4 camp is dancing on the table...

I think I'll give it a try, BUT...

may I take some "special" snipers to the battle? (I always wondered how a sniper carrying four 8,8 cm L/71 guns would do in battle). OK, we can negotiate about THAT one ;) .

I've taken a look at that scenario, and I must say I'm impressed. But where are my Tigers??? I didn't play any PBEM scenarios yet so I don't know if I'm able to buy my own forces and deploy them or if I have to take the given forces.

Cyrist: Could you do me a favor and play like the AI? Although I'm afraid I have to negotiate about that one...

And finally, may I switch to the M4 camp before the batte starts? I don't want to have my butt kicked twice, first in the battle and after that from all the cat drivers around here... On the other hand, I DON'T want to negotiate about that one :p .

My timetable for the next three weeks is a bit limited. Next weekend I'm away for the wedding of my best friend, and on the following weekend is my own wedding and then 10 days honeymoon. :)

And finally I hope I 'm able to continue with my DAR's without repeating myself.

Any questions?

I've taken a look at that scenario,

He's taken a look at the scenario.. Ummm in that case he may know stuff I do not when we start playing. Given HE has SS troops and a mechanized force and I 'just' own a few Guardsmen, how fair is this? I am tempted to open the scenario up ingame as well, just to take a peek.

FYI I did download the scenario and plopped it into my scenario folder. But that is all I did, nothing more nothing less. I would not dare sneak peek.

No negotiations :D sorry.

I honestly have only looked at MY headquarter's screen, to get an overlook at MY forces. I DID NOT look at your forces, cyr.

I'm really sorry, it wasn't my intention to take out some of the fun. :o

On the other hand, if Jess decided that the germans had elite troops and the russians only "a few guardsmen", that would be part of the game, or wouldn't it? ;)

Well that was a figure of speech, more or less. I will start the game in singleplayer and have a look around at my own troops then.

Yup.. that's what I replied in my PM to you.. I'll have a look around (read: I will not play, just look at the first turn) and we can still get busy at PBEM :)

Just read my PM reply Los, everything's ok! ;)

Jess: I sent another PM to Los explaining how to setup a PBEM game, since he had never done so. If we cannot get it done for some reason, would you be kind enough to helpu us/setup for us?

:)

Cyr.
