Difference between Rivet Joint and Joint Stars A/C

Post by 1nutworld »

Hey everyone.

I'm playing the Ukraine Convoy mission and see that I have the option of using Rivet Joint as well as Joint Stars A/C to help with my mission to take out the convoy headed towards Kiev!

From attempting to use both sets of A/C in the Desert Storm DLC, I got confused as to what the difference is between them in terms of operational abilities. We also have been given AWACS and that's a straight forward platform when it's radars are active, which is obviously the mission. However, the Rivet Joint (elint mission loadout) and Joint Stars (survailance) missions seem (to me anyway) identical in terms of intel gathering.

Don't hold it against me but I'm a Navy guy and so while AEW and AWACS missions are things I am familiar with, the Air Forces missions with using Rivet Joint and Joint Stars capabilities are harder for me to understand.

Thanks in advance!

One thing to try out is the new search function on the forum. It works great.

Obviously I don't remember as well as I used to, either!

Thanks for the reminders and helping me find answers already given!
