How to assign a new home base for a fleet?

Post by spacegoblin »

Hi,

As the title says. I select a fleet, but when I click on their home base it takes me to the planet card rather than present a menu to change a different port. Is there another way to do this?

Hold Ctrl, then right click the base you want to assign as a base. Or, right click and hold down the button for a second.

A sort of related question I have is: Can you hit ctrl and then left mouse drag around ships to give them commands?

I tried both settings for what I thought in settings controlled this but neither resulted in me being able to highlight ships to give commands to.

Sort of grown accustomed to doing this in a wide variety of games and muscle memory makes me do it in this one.

If this isn't a thing that's fine I'll unlearn it and click on individual ships but it's often seemingly easier to just try and grab an area with a mouse to select something, or at least it is to me.

Hopefully this description of what I'm talking about makes some sense. :)

Yyyyyes, but I wouldn't if I were you. There's all kinds of issues with selecting ships that way at the moment, from usability problems (can't add to or subtract from selection via drag select) to outright bugs.

Use fleets instead. It makes life much easier.

Thanks for the reply, guess it's time to figure out what fleets are about!
