Migration Bug - Passenger Ships won't offload Pops and sometimes even space them

Post by molkemon »

Hello,

in my game I currently have a full capital and another not full colony in the same system with high migration attraction because no taxes.

Maybe important: This colony was given to me by the "Sleeper Pods or Terraformer" event - specifically the Teekan version.

Passenger ships are being built and they pick up migrants from the capital correctly (ship goes into orbit, stops, then the pops are gradually "sucked up" from the capital). The passenger ship then jumps to the other colony, approaches, stops, and then either

a) restarts the mission and jumps back to the capital while still carrying all the migrants or
b) SPACES the migrants- they just disappear all at once, pops don't arrive on the colony, they are just gone lol

On the other hand, tourism missions work correctly, both picking up and deployingg to resort bases, pops are gradually transferred to/from the ship.

I'm not quite sure if is was never working to begin with or if it stopped working somewhen along my playthrough. I *think* it stopped working somewhen around 150m pops (started with 50m from an event on that planet).

Pop policy should be setup correctly, save is in attachement.

Edit: I have meanwhile colonized a third world and migration works properly to the new colony, but to the second colony it is still broken. Also just updated to 1.0.1.6, no difference

Update: After playing around a bit with old saves and also the Game Editor, it would seem that migration was working correctly until a population of 196M was reached. That is the moment it breaks, after the pop is 196, no further pops are transferred off the passenger ships.

Manipulating size/pop value of the planet in the editor did not rectify the error.

Deleting and making a "new" planet seems to be working though, but this is like.... really weird.

Yeah, migration has some issues right now, it seems.

If you have a save that demonstrates when and how things break down, I'm sure CodeForce would appreciate it.

Here is the save thatt best demonstrates it: When it's loaded up, Migration to the colony is still working but within 3 months (by October), 196M population is reached and after that, pops are no longer offloaded.

Yeesh. I wonder if my migrants ever arrived on my colonies, then, i'll have to pay more close attention to the ships when they arrive.

Best not be spacing my migrants.. I will scuttle their ship!

Someone on Reddit has the same problem also on a colony that was spawned from the same event - Teekan Sleepers or Terraformer event. Pretty sure the event somehow makes the planet bug out and sets like "migratable pop" to a very low value:

My problem is my colony ships won't pick up population at all.

Colony Ships don't migrate people, they only pick up colonists after you give it the order to "colonize this planet".

Passenger Ships automatically pick up tourists to ship to resort bases or migrants to other planets (IF that planet has higher immigration pull than the other planet - usually lower taxes should do it).

It seems to be working fine overall, except for the colonies given by the "sleepers or terrarformer" event.

Thank you for the report. We'll work to resolve this once we've fixed the critical issues that are still preventing some players from playing DW2.
