Empire still exists with 0 colonies. Why?

Empire still exists with 0 colonies. Why?

See screenshot. Teekan syndicate lost their last colony and I'm still at war with them. Their last colony wasn't taken by me but by the Great Zenox Domain (Teal), which is why I declared war on them as well now. Not sure if this is a bug or if I'm missing something. Anyone have a clue?

Edit: Difficulty is Hard / Unstable if that is relevant to at all.

This could be a bug. I'd say it's possible that they have a colony you don't know about, but I dunno. I usually know where all the colonies are.

Definitely no colonies left. I stole operations, territory and galaxy map just now to make sure.
