There are several waves of enemy ships, so don't get cocky after you deal with the first few Kimshaars and Tereks. More are on the way, and they're literally right around the corner. To add to the challenge, your primary damage dealing weapons are fusion missiles, so you must use them wisely as there is no time during the assault for reloads/refits. Good timing with your disruptor waves and jockeying for a superior ramming angle whenever possible is essential. I suggest pausing the game at startup to review all of your defense capabilities and plan accordingly. You'll need every advantage you can muster, believe me.
If you're able to send all ememies packing (or better yet, turn them into space debris) without getting Hyperion I turned into a great big ball of glass in the process AND without suing any of the invading races for peace, then you just might be worthy enough to call yourself a master SUDG admiral. Get ready for an intense fight!
I finally finished this game today with a hard earned win. I ended up losing the Hyperion system in this fight, and immediately flew the planet killer I'd been saving on Sol I to the Meotian homeworld in a fit of violent rage. Man, that felt good. Hehe.
I've since reloaded this game a few times, and have had lots of fun with it. Thought it'd be a shame not to share it.
This is a v2.1 50-star Advanced game with all settings tweaked for maximum difficulty. Good luck in the fight for Hyperion, and let me know how you fared!
