Is there anything that increases Assimilation?

Post by Artophwar »

I may be blind but I didnt seen anything in game that could increase assimilation. Is there such a thing or is it just preset per race?

They should add an assimilation building. I spent a lot of effort capturing an insectoid 🐜 home-world and I want to teach them Democracy.

There's currently an exploit where you can trigger tax rebellions, the game doesn't differentiate why they're rebelling, so when you take out the uprising you get +30% assimilation near instantly. This of course potentially kills tens if not hundreds of millions, but since those being killed are tax evaders it has no effect upon your reputation standing amongst the other empires. You can usually get 100% assimilation within ~8-20 days depending on colony size with this method, though just be sure not to lose, that'd be awkward.

Each Species has a assimilation rate, with Mortalan at -50% and Teekan at +20% being the worst and best. And with 0% being the default.

I think that overall Happiness and the Diplomacy techs help, but I got no actuall data to confirm anything here

Corruption is simply a extra effect for taxes over 20%, or undeveloped colonies. It has a additional happiness impact on top of everything else, so it limites how far raising taxes is worth it.
Corruption is a extra penalty to make realy high taxation infeasible.

I think it’s unfair I captured the Boskara home world and it has no benefit to me other than draining my resources so I’ll have to try this exploit

I conquered the Mortalans after the Boskara and they are already giving me profits and more assimilated. Probably because the Boskara hate humans more
