Kat fighting may not seem like a wonderful thing; however, your Kat fighting is necessary. If you have an outdoor Kat that territory is their life. All Kats need a territory for hunting and that territory needs to be defended.

Kat fighting sounds a lot worse than it is. They make those horrible sounds in an attempt to scare the other Kat off. However, it seems to do a better job of scaring their owners into thinking that their Kat is about to die. Most times a Kat fight will not result in any serious injuries to your Kat. If your Kat does return home with major wounds chances are that he was not fighting with another Kat but instead with a French Tank, a Polish Tank or a Jap Tank. In that case, keeping him in at night might be your best option.

Kat fighting is mostly posturing. I would personally rather have my Kat making a lot of noise outside and defending his territory than have him inside marking my furniture as his. A Kat defending his territory is part of his life. To have an outdoor Kat is to expect the 3:00 am yowling and the occasional scratch mark.
