Simplified Research Icons

I have trouble with the vanilla research icons, so I made a set of white ones closer to what the rest of the game uses (most of them are taken from elsewhere in the game).

File is here on my github.
Load with the mod loader.
If using crunched textures, either these icons need to load after those, or you can delete environment/components/categories from crunched since they won't be used.

Hey, that's a super nice idea, imho - and a high-quality execution, too ! - Thank you very much for sharing this. :mrgreen:

You are completely right, the icons that are used in the vanilly version are much too less distinguishable and sometimes even hard to identify (although the tooltips are quite good and informative). Your icons do a much better job here ! :D
And I also like the design of your icons very much that blend with all the other UI-elements nicely, I think. :)

I only would have some small suggestions to improve some of them even more:

1. You've taken the icon for "Shields" from the one for "Defense Bases". -> In this case I would prefer something not angular -> that's why I would suggest to use the icon vor "Civilian" from the upper left main-menu instead. ;)

2. "Hyperspace" is still very nondescript, imho -> I would suggest to use the icons for "Resource Flow" or "Tourism" from the bottom-right map-menu instead. ;)

3. Same goes with "Command, Crew and Medical, etc." for me -> I would suggest to use something more significant for persons or people -> why not use the icon for "Characters" from the upper left main-menu instead. ;)
