fighters wandering off

So I went out in the middle of nowhere with several carriers to test this, cause it was suspicious. Attack 1 gravillex ---> check back in 2 minutes, I've lost 100s of fighters in that time. Not to the gravi, but they've wandered off.. I've seen a long straight line of fighters and bombers going somewhere, and couldn't recall them, the fleet strength dropped 150K, not to mention the resources it takes to rebuild them..

Happens all the time.
