Picked this up last and and finish bootcamp 1 today.

Got a draw, but learn a ton and had a blast.

The other 3 bootcamps are more difficult so don't fret a failure here and there. They are more brutal than most other scenario's but do a great job explaining the mechanics in the game.

Wait till Bootcamp 2. It is tough. Treat it for what it is;a Bootcamp. I modified that scenario to get the supply trucks closer to their destination and that gave me more time to prepare...but it was still a tough scenario. Read up on use of flares.
The VC/NVA in this game remind me of the Japanese Army in the John Tiller games ;Proud and the Few. You know you are going to be/or were in a fight. And any kind of VICTORY comes with a feeling of relief rather then tasting sweet.
Very challenging.
