Suggested DLC's

Post by Adagosto »

Hi all.
I just purchased the base CMO simulation. What DLC's would you suggest for expansion?

I'm mostly into the most modern modeling available as well as ASW operations.

I have very little experience with CMO, but I've got many years with Harpoon. So far Command is pretty straight forward to pick up on.

Thanks!

Well I would recommend them all but I have really enjoyed Kashmir Fire as you get to use a mix eastern and western equipment which isn't necessarily meant to be used in the same ways and that's an interesting situation as a player vs using a more homogenized force.

Hi Adam,

Firstly, welcome to the community, it's good to have you and I hope you stick around. Command and thr community who support it is really great. There's also an official CMO Discord as well where a lot of us gather to Discuss CMO daily that you might want to check out, though the bulk of all communications still happen here on the forums. Anyway, onto your question....

I'd check out this well known guide as it directly addresses and answers your question extremely well. He explains what the first few recommended DLC/Command LIVE purchases are and why.

Note that the above guide is generally geared towards new players to CMO and those with little expierence in a platform like this. The information is definitely still worth a look regardless, he has many scenarios recommendations in that guide also, and many tend to have pretty balanced difficult even for a veteran.

As a personal recommendation, I'm enjoying "The Silent Service" for subsurface operations. It's a cool campaign in that it follows less of a storyline and more isolated scenarios in ascending difficulty showing the unique tactical and operational challenges and missions of submarine ops.

Other than that, if you have experience with Harpoon and platforms like it and you'll just learning the Command platform while already familiar operational tactics your best bet is just picking a DLC in a time period and theater/events that interest you most.

They are all pretty well regarded by the community and all seem to have a high level of quality. If you're familiar with this type of simulation and not bound by having to start with the "easiest" of the DLCs first, I'd say you'd absolutely be best served just picking the one that sounds interesting to you.

Even if you don't have CMO on steam, I find the product pages for the DLC give a nice breakdown of what each one offers as well.

Hope this helps,
Steve.

Just a small correction Easy301 ;)

Half life Expert updated his guide to CMO, includes now the last DLCs (Kashmir fire and Red tide), and LIVE that now are 13 instead of 10.

He also updated the reading list.
