Help with modding pls :)

Hi, first time modding this game, so after searching online I couldn't find these two questions.

I am replacing the race Portraits, so there is a default (race_0) and then alternate image(race_0a).

By default, the Characters screen uses the default image, and I would like to change it so that it would use the alternate.

I would like to change the race Portrait used in the Galactopedia, but I can't figure out how, it still uses the original portrait even though it's replaced in the rest of the game.

You have to edit the help file with an html editor. I used to use internet explorer I believe but I'm sure there's better options. It's been many years since I've edited something but I hope I helped.

Thanks, I'll try, though I have never done anything like it. What about the alternate portrait?

if I remember, the alternate race images (1a, 2a etc...) are used in the diplomacy screen only and are optional.

The race pictures don't have a background so relevant backgrounds can be displayed depending where a character is (planet, space etc...)

Also the game comes with a modding handbook which is very informative.

Oh ok, I really wanted to use the alternate ones in the characters screen, but I'll figure it out. Btw, I tried to alter the html files and .... I have no idea what I'm doing. I'll find out how in the future.
