Supply blockade of Gibraltar and another question

Post by canuckgamer »

The Axis have 3 Italian subs blockading Gibraltar. In the game turn report it said Gibraltar was under blockade. At the start of the Axis turn I had a UK sub in Gibraltar but it got sunk so whatever naval unit I have there to break the blockade must have to survive the Axis turn in which case I would have to have more than one naval unit in Gibraltar. I am wondering if moving subs in there would break the blockade as they only cost 120 PPs to build.

My second question concerns a French partisan in Syria. Syria is occupied by the UK and the hexes indicate UK control so wondering why the French partisan is still there. As the Allied player I can move it. Also a rail hex that displays it as French remained French even after I moved a UK unit in to that hex. What is happening here?

Only a few major countries have partisans and no minor one has them. Are you sure it is not a saboteur (blowing up rail)?

If so, I think that all countries can have them and they will blow up rail line controlled by their invader (here UK).

For the hex not converting to UK, not sure.

It is an actual partisan unit and the strange thing is that I as the Allies can move it. The Axis did not choose the Vichy option and the French surrendered a few turns ago.

Hum... maybe in this particular case, the whole French territory (including Syria, North Africa) is considered a « major power » by the program and will have partisans as France can. Could be bug as I doubt it is intended. But only Alvaro can answer that for sure.

Move 3 UK CVs + a plane and sink them. They won't show up again.
