Union Kansas/Oklahoma

Post by Bobo2025 »

Curious, how are Union players handling Kansas/Oklahoma. The CSA gets a metric ton of Indian units, marching out there jeopardizes supply lines for the units on the attack plus supply is miserable. Are players trying to go on the offensive or just screening away at those irregular units?

I have been just keeping the area busy. Advance if they aren't, retreat if they are. Usually supply lines will stop the side advancing then you can pick off any units to far from supply. That usually starts a retreat. So far haven't tried to reinforce the area other than the troops you normally get as part of events and such.

As the Rebel if the Union pushes hard in this area, I will build more Indian units and send some infantry reinforcements to hold the Arkansas line. I rarely push to far north because the Union does have a lot of cavalry and infantry in the area.

As the Union I rarely reinforce the area. They have enough cavalry and infantry to hold Missouri but not press to far into southern Missouri. If you want to take Arkansas, it will require major reinforcements.

This is all based on first two years. Haven't played enough into 63/64 to know if things change.
