Unable to log Private WIF Netplay Forum.
After a new game installation and update to 4.1.1 "Error=6" window appears every time I try to log.

Most likely the game is not in the same directory where it was before. Your NetPlayReg.txt file is therefore empty. Search your PC for the old one and copy to where the game is now installed.
There are other posts on this forum about what is in the NetPlayReg.txt file which could aid in reconstructing it if the old one is gone. It is only 4 lines which are your username, password, email and location. It would have been built when you first registered onto the Netplay Forum.
It is critical that both your username and password are in the same case (i.e. capitalized or not) as they were originally.

I´ve installed the game because the private forum registration problem. I´m almost sure the user and password are the same but i don´t know is there are some way to recover it just in case. Before the new installation i asked for support to matrix games and they said to me;paulderynck wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 9:24 pm Most likely the game is not in the same directory where it was before. I did it and didn´t work.Hi Andrés,
Thank you for contacting us. Usually this happens when you are not using the Slitherine/Matrix account details for login.
Please do the following:
Open the game installation folder. Locate and select a file named "autorun.exe". Press the right mouse button and select "Properties". Click on the "Compatibility" tab. Tick the option "Run this program as an administrator". Click on "Apply" and "Ok".
Then delete "NetPlayReg.txt" (*) file and run the game.
After you click in the button to login in the NetPlay forum you'll have to fill a form with your Slitherine/Matrix account details and game's serial number. Click Submit and you should be able to login in the NetPlay forum.
(*) This file can be found in your game installation folder.
My online game mate have experienced registrations problems and he asked for support too, instead the previous instruccións, they send him a link to solve the problem. He solved the problem but he has to made a new register every time he enters the private forum.

Re: Unable to log Private WIF Netplay Forum.
I just tried it myself and got the same as you.
If you watch the top right as it progresses it shows my serial number and my username and then errors out. If you clear the error message the buttons work except the "Seeking" one. Whether they do anything, I don't know, because although there's no error message, the results are all blank with only headings.
I must conclude that Matrix/Slitherine have seriously F..d up the login functionality.
Sorry I cannot help further than this.

Re: Unable to log Private WIF Netplay Forum.
I have to say that logging into the NetPlay Forum works ok for me.
There is one issue that I am aware of though. if your Matrix/Slitherine password contains special characters like these !@#$%^&*() then you wont be able to complete the NetPlay form page from within the game, as it completely rejects these special characters. None the less, I just edit the NetPlayReg.txt file manually and enter my password on the second line, including the special characters that I use in my password. This works for me and I can log in successfully.
The other thing to try, make sure your login details work on the Matrix site and the Slitherine site, separately. That's both Matrix.com and Slitherine.com. Just click on the login button at the top right on each of these sites and make sure your username and password is the same and you can log into each site successfully. Maybe your account details are out of sync between the two sites.
Also be aware that the Matrix Forum username and password is different. NetPlay requires your Matrix/Slitherine one, and not the one you use for logging into the forum.
Next is to make sure that your Username is entered correctly in the NetPlayReg.txt file, I believe this is case sensitive, so it needs to match perfectly.
If all the above check out, then you really have me stumped as well.
Brian.

Re: Unable to log Private WIF Netplay Forum.
My password, which had been working one or several sessions a week for year/s suddenly gave me an error, I contacted Slitherin and they told me to delete a certain file NetPlayReg.txt and to register again, and they said the game would create a new file with the new parameters.
The problem was obviously not my user/pass, however the forum didnt allow me access, so they somehow created a problem and this was supposed to be the solution.
It happened to more people who logged those days, like Andres.
Since they couldnt find a solution to the problem they created, they told people to reinstall deleting all directories and files related first. It worked.
So after a lot of tinkering (at first we had to reinstall and the file was not created until they suggested deleting earlier...) those affected could go on, and those not affected in that period, it seems wont be.

Re: Unable to log Private WIF Netplay Forum.
Yes, now that I have again a NetPlayReg.txt file to check again, I see it is a couple of lines of text that I could have edited easily instead of so much fuss, ..., in case that had been the problem (like they said) only it wasnt. But its absence did became one, after their meddling.BrianJH wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:01 am I have to say that logging into the NetPlay Forum works ok for me.

Re: Unable to log Private WIF Netplay Forum.
It still fails for me as per the picture in the OP's initial post. The error message repeats after I 'OK' it, if I click on the Seeking button.
Possibly it is due to my using a different username and password than I do for the forum because back when I was beta testing (alpha testing?
) I had two user/password combinations so I could test Netplay between two PCs.
I honestly cannot remember how long it has been since the last time I tried logging in to the Netplay forum before the last couple days. It may have pre-dated the format change in this forum.

HAve you checked that you have your NetPlayReg.txt and it has the correct data?
I guess you have, since you probably didnt delete it like we were told to, but just in case...

Yes the file is right and at least for me it is not the problem because the login all seems to happen correctly before that error message show up.

Re: Unable to log Private WIF Netplay Forum.
I am playing two games now, with different hotpatches, in one now all works fine with the NPforum since I reinstalled and all that stuff.
But in the other I get that error for some seconds (freezing the blood in my veins) and then we can play normally.
