Diplomacy % Reset

Post by Scarz »

I am playing a game via the pbem portal as South. Start of the Oct 1862 turn all the Nations reset to 0%. Sadly, Spain was around 45% to 50%. Is this be design? I didn't see any event that might have done this. Or is it a glitch?

Any ideas, thanks.

Sounds likely that the Union said YES to the Emancipation Proclamation DE (though it is worth noting that October 1862 is not "early" in this case), are you sure you didn't just miss the popup saying that they had done so?

Here's the conditions for the event:

DE 513: Issue the Emancipation Proclamation?
Event Fires: 25% chance each turn after September 1, 1862, if there are no Confederate
units within five hexes of Washington DC, neither the UK, France nor Spain have entered the
war, and the Union said NO to DE 525.
Cost of Accepting: Nothing.
YES: Union Fighting Spirit will fall by 5000 points, and then increase by 125 points each
turn for the rest of the game. UK, France and Spain will all shift 40-60% towards the Union.
NO: Nothing

Thanks for the response. I guess I could have missed it. I will check the distance of my guys to Washington, maybe I am farther than 5 hexes... Seems pretty harsh hit to lose 50 odd percent of influence...anyway, thanks again for the reply and the rebellion will continue!

It is harsh and that is why it's important for the CSA to try to maintain a presence within 5 hexes of Washington DC...a difficult thing I must admit...but doable especially if they have General Lee in northern Virginia in mid 1862 and on. 🥁
