Where to find Community Pack files

Post by mdsmall »

Hi - I am trying to copy some revised sprites for the Blue Max mod that I received from a friend into my folders for SC WW1. However, looking at my SC WW1 folder, I do not see the folder for the Community Pack, which contains the Blue Max mod folder. The odd thing is that the Blue Max mod mod option is there when I play the game - so the files must be somewhere in my directory.

Does anyone have any advice on how to find the Community Pack / Blue Max folders, so I can past this revised bitmap files into that folder? Note that I am not familiar with the PC operating system (I only use a PC to play Strategic Command), so I may be overlooking an obvious step.

Typically it would be in your installation folder, found here:

\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Strategic Command - World War l\Community Pack\Mods

But for user mods, e.g. a customized version of the Blue Max mod, I would suggest placing this, using a similar structure to the original Blue Max mod found via the path I've shown above, but in your USER folder.

For the user folder you wouldn't need to reference it as a 'Community Pack' but just in the Mods folder, found here:

\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWI\Mods

Hope this helps,
Hubert
