I owe an apology to the community

Post by Ironwulf »

I feel that I owe an apology to the community here regarding a post I made last week.

I apologize because it was unwarranted. My overly harsh words and comments regarding aspects of the tournament were unjustified and wrong. Honestly, I was a bit "in my cups" and while excited to be in my first tournament (I love the game and was eagerly awaiting participation) I was frustrated that my first match did not go past the halfway point - but I expressed my frustrations in a negative way. To get as upset as I did was just stupid.

I temporarily forgot that this is just a game - it's meant to be fun, enjoyable, & educational, and all the players I've met have been very fine people to play with.

So I owe everyone that read that a big "I'm Sorry" - I'm Sorry.

I'm totally embarrassed by that too but I feel the need to come clean.

Happy Gaming!!

I completely agreed with your original post; the Tournaments are rubbish. I was totally mispointed in the first Tournament I played so I thought I would give it another chance and guess what, the same thing happened in the second Tournament. This may be just a game but who wants to waste their time on tournaments where the team administering the points are not up to the job. I will never waste my time on another V&V Tournament and I have relatives and friends who have come to the same decision. In my opinion you had nothing to apologise about. In fact, I think that you were too generous in your remarks😊

It's forgotten already. Your apology when unnecessary shows your true character. Look towards the future :D

Your latest post shows a real greatness, being able to admit that your reaction was maybe a bit exaggerated ;)

But I can feel with you, it must have come from a moment of total frustration. I have had the same experience several times with tournaments (not only V&V but other games as well), you are eager to finally get playing and have fun and then you get one of these suckers who don't play a single round.

I really don't understand these people who sign up in tournaments with no intention to play. And not only once but several times. I think Slitherine should do more to avoid this, but of course I understand they want to sell games to as many players as possible and not play the bad cop.

I was lucky this time to have 3 great opponents with good playing pace. It was great fun. Hope you have better luck next time!

Cheers
