Evasion Questions

Note I have read the small tract regarding Evasion in the Game Manual but was wondering what 'research' is affecting this. The reason I am asking is that in my current MP match on YT, as CSA, my units evade a lot more that my opponents. I have researched heavily into Infantry and Cavalry Tactics plus the usual Infantry and Cavalry Equipment early on so suspect these are the research items I needed. Also, I try to keep my units under attachments to HQ's at all times if possible, and in good supply.

I have started reading my opponents subscribers comments..who feel I have been too lucky...as my units evade a lot but his don't so much. I'm pretty sure he didn't start researching Infantry or Cavalry Tactics till late on into the campaign...and this has cost him. Still, was wondering if I am right about the fact that with all the other bonuses Infantry and Cavalry Tactics also effect Evasion, or if its that and other things like Leadership etc.

Any illumination on this Evasion factor and whats behind it would be great. I know it wasn't all luck on my part with this.

Hi Mike

The only research that increases evasion is Bouyancy Tanks for subs, so it sounds as though the evasion dice have been rolling well for you this game. Enjoy the moment!

I kind of think you mean 'retreat', not 'evade'?
But techs do not seem to affect this either.

It must of been Louisiana Voodoo and the Random Number Goddess then after all.
I certainly didn't upgrade my cavalry with buoyancy tanks haha.
