Japanese Armor

Post by generalfdog »

It appears Japan had at least 4 armored divisions in China I know that if their tactics were to use them as infantry support only that the tradition has been to not represent those units. of course with 39 tech they are not all that great anyways, but I wonder if it would spice things up a bit to add 1 or 2 Japanese Armored corps?

I had thought about this but I would not add corps.

I had actually created Armor divisions for them and removed mech since they did not have any mech at all.
Basically very weak armor units that ate more oil than they were worth.

IF I remember they had 1 in Manchuria and 1 in Japan...forget where the other 2 were, but I think they were later in the war.

Similar to France. They did not know how to correctly make use of them.

Perhaps start with 2 special armor divisions... basically infantry with a 1 tank added, 40% exp.
Could be a unit similar to motorized infantry but at a division level.
Japan though has enough oil issues.
So I am torn adding units that would require oil.
