aircraft loading: Need Help please

Im a newbie, so please bear with me. How do you load aircraft onto ships in the west coast us bases, to transport them to Pearl? The long range bombers just fly there, but i want to load aircraft with shorter legs, such as fighters, onto ships for transport. I see the button that says "transfer to docked ships", but even if I have docked transports and docked cargo ships, they do not appear in the subsequent "pick destination ship" list. In fact, nothing ever appears on that list.

You have to load them as you would load a land unit using "Load Troops" through the Task Force function, NOT through the Air Group function.

Before you load your troops, so to speak, set the transport TF mission to "do not unload" in the lower left. Air groups have an annoying tendency to load so quickly that they often automatically unload at the beginning the next turn if they're part of a larger task force that is still loading. So they end up back on the dock where they started. Unfortunately, that means you have to remember to set it back to unload before it reaches its destination.

You'll also notice that air groups restricted to the West Coast will be greyed out as they are ineligible to be transported.
