Navypedia as a source for education and db

Post by thewood1 »

https://www.navypedia.org/ships_index.htm

I have seen this site referenced a number of times in the db and description threads so thought I'd get the main link into this forum. Its an excellent site. You can find a lot of the information on wiki. But they do have harder to find stuff like air wing composition of carriers. I find stuff like that all consolidated into one site immensely valuable. I also own several of their books and refer to them all the time. I find them better than Janes and a lot cheaper.

Second volume of the modern ship reference is out. I now have the first two volumes. Originally, I called them a less expensive version of Jane's, but they list the ships from the entire modern history of the referenced navies. The detailed coverage of air wings is worth the money. I think there will be 4-5 volumes by the time they are done. That comes to $150 for entire world's navies from 1990. Very cool reference for any CMO p[layer.
