friendly fire

Post by Christoph »

Several times I lost as jap Generals while doing bombing missions on bases where a battle is going on. Never saw this happen to the enemy. Is this just not shown or is this a friendly fire bug?

Has anybody made the same experience?

Can happen to both sides and is a feature, not a bug. Generals can be killed by enemy and friendly fire during ground attack, bombing and bombardment - but oddly it seems that the chances of killing your own general are higher than the same mistake happening to the AI, and again the chances that you kill your own guy is higher than killing the opposing number. But that's a subjective impression. Can be frustrating, especially when heavy fighting in Burma kills British generals faster than they are replaced.

Yes, same thing happen to me several times, I once lost Horii to a FF  ! I saw also when Japanese bombing raids killed Allied generals, even once Doorman was killed after surface engagment! That's what I like about this game, it is close to real thing in many aspects.
