When you conquer a world - it sometimes continues to repair one's enemy ships -- and in general -- FAILS to clear its build queue / rethink what's allowed.
So I've seen:
- blanks where something is in the build queue
- enemy ships in the build queue
Here is the first item in Mikai's build queue (about a year after I conquered it, accepted peace from the Mortalen Empire, then they declared a new war on me, and here we are, still with their ships clogging / blocking my ability to do anything with this planet. For perspective, here is where three of those clogged ships are - out in deep space - where the planet will never be able to repair them anyway... Which brings us to...
After clearing some of the queue by manually deleting these things with the game-editor, we have this prime example of a serious failure for this game to be genuinely playable / functional for the general public: Here I have a ship that I have "inherited" - which is totally F*up, but I have NO OPTIONS WITH WHAT TO DO WITH IT.
I cannot scuttle it -- no UI allows that (much sadness).
I cannot retire -- UI allows it - but the ship is DISABLED, so it isn't functional...
I cannot order a constructor to come -- no UI in the game for this...
I cannot remove it from the queue -- UI fails to allow me to adequately control queue (really would be better if you allowed players to reorder, remove, etc., items from the queue w/o restricting the current [first] item).
THERE ARE NO CIRCUMSTANCES in which the game should remove the ability to SCUTTLE a ship. It could be hidden behind other more likely choices, such as STOP, when only then could enable / show SCUTTLE (which badly needs its own, unique, icon, to help avoid more unhappiness). [This problem also occurs when the game "gifts" a derelict ship in working order -- sometimes your economy absolutely can't handle it - and you want to scuttle it -- and sometimes you get ships that are so far away & out of fuel & would take several in-game decades for them to limp to someplace to refuel - or they're high-tech but you're low-tech in quantum reactors - so their range is 1M or so, and they can't get back except to sublight it the whole way == ALL OF THESE are reasons to scuttle an otherwise perfectly good ship -- and I, the PLAYER, am the one who should wield the right to make those decisions].
The ability to queue a constructor to come repair the ship would be a massive improvement here - and in general.
OH, OH, OH -- META =-= ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THIS LOUSY CRAPOLA FORUM DELETING MY ATTACHMENTS!!#$!@#!@#$!@@#$!@
JUST EDITED THIS THING AND NOW THEY'RE ALL GONE -- AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE TEXT HEREIN -- THEY'RE ALL STILL REFERENCED -- IT JUST ARBITRARILY DELETED THEM ALL 1@#$!@#$!@
