Fighter Sweeps just don't want to strafe

Is this an issue or am I doing something wrong while planning FS missions because my fighters just don't want to strafe any airfields. They just observe a certain location and go back. Also when I target the airfields during mission planning it doesn't say XXX AF but gives coordinates instead and sometimes the row or the column doesn't match with the location of the airfield. Though even if it matches my fighters don't want to strafe. I tried different altitudes for the mission (400, 700, 1000, 10000, 15000 etc.) but none of them worked (well one of them seem to strafe but it didn't do anything so like 1/100 missions).

From version 1.05 on:
• Strafing fighters will only target airfields with recon-confirmed enemy planes, otherwise they will simply patrol over the target airfield until bingo fuel. This eliminates suicide airfield attacks on empty airfields on the return leg.
