PBEM Unit Status Issue

PBEM Unit Status Issue
My opponent and I are experiencing changed unit status in our PBEM game. We are playing GC41 with version 1.02.45.
I sent him my Soviet T11 with 255 Soviets units set to Refit (232 in Map TB including support and 23 in Soviet Reserve TB) and none set to Reserve Status. But the saved game he sent back at the start of my T12 had only one Soviet unit in Refit (in the Map TB) and 34 in Reserve (split between Map and Soviet Reserves TB's) . The units I had previously set to Refit did not gain strength even where they had been placed on depots. The 34 Soviet units in Reserve Status are almost all motorized (Armor, Mech) units. I believe he had set his German armor units to Reserve Status during his turn.
He had a similar issue in his prior turn. He had set his armor units to Reserve Status but when he got my turn back they had reverted to Ready status. None of his Reserve units triggered during my turn as he had expected they would.
It would appear that we are resetting each other's unit status during our turns.
I have the saved game files and Commander's Report Excel workbooks. If they can be of help let me know.

I just wanted to mention for the DEVS that I just checked my game, which is on the server, has not experienced this under 1.02.45 yet as of turn 2 for informational purposes.Shupov wrote: Thu Dec 01, 2022 10:55 pm My opponent and I are experiencing changed unit status in our PBEM game. I will point out that if any units were on trains during the turn on refit "will" revert to "no" refit.
Also that reserve activation "will not" take place when a hasty attack is done.
I know Joel and the DEV team will want your save for sure so you may consider uploading now

Good luck and hope we get an answer for this one. You have me worried in my game now.

Thanks HLYA.
Which files should I upload? I tried to upload the psv files but got the "invalid file extension" error message.

you can upload archive or rename PSV to something that has .zip in the end, like "xxx.psv.zip"

Thanks Stamb.
Here are the files.
ST vs Shupov Axis T12.psv is the file I sent to my German opponent. It was saved after my Soviet T11.
ST vs Shupov SOV T12.psv is the file returned by him.
Let me know if anything else is needed.

Re: PBEM Unit Status Issue
Thanks for the saves. From them I can tell that yes, All the non-city fort units have changed out of refit status sometime during the German turn. I can see they are in refit at the start of the German turn, but no longer at the start of the Soviet turn. I just advanced the turn (using 1.02.45 and our latest in test 1.02.47) and both times the Soviet units were fine (no reserve, lots of refit). So the question is how are you impacting each other. If you have saves at different points in the German turn (especially just before the end of the German turn) I could see when it happened, and we might confirm it didn't happen in a logistics phase, but actually during the German turn. I tried doing a mass change in the CR screen during the German turn, but it had no impact on the Soviet units (which of course it should not since they don't show in the German CR screen). So right now it's a mystery how you are impacting each other. How are you changing your units' modes?

Re: PBEM Unit Status Issue
Joel,
Thanks for looking into this. As the Soviet player, I do have intermediate saves during my T11 turn. They may help narrow down when the German Reserve statuses changed. As stated earlier, the problem was first noticed during my T11 turn when I made several attacks without activating any German Reserve responses. My opponent had set many Axis units to Reserve anticipating my attacks. The lack of Reserve responses caught his attention but we played on.
I have attached saves made at the end of my opponent's Axis T10 turn (the start of my Soviet T11 turn), the end of my T11 air phase (before my attacks) and at the end of my T11 movement phase (after my attacks). You can check the Axis unit statuses at those junctures.
Good luck!

Here's my T11/12 start
I unfortunately don't have a file after I set 2nd and 3rd panzers to reserve at the end of T11

Re: PBEM Unit Status Issue
9 German units are on reserve throughout the Soviet turn and into the next German turn. Since there is no end of German turn 11 save, I can't say what was on reserve at that point. Did you think you had more than 9 German on reserve? Units that move are taken out of reserve mode, so maybe that's why there aren't more on reserve (assuming you expected there to be more than 9)? Although there are a lot on reserve, if it's the area I think the German player is looking at, the units would have to move zoc to zoc to reach the battle (takes more MPs, so less likely), and the units are in different corps from the defending units (although in the same army). So could just be they were difficult reserve commitments to get to happen.
Still doesn't explain the Soviet units coming out of refit.

Re: PBEM Unit Status Issue
Error of my human memory is likely, as I do my turns in 1 sitting so cannot remember unfortunately
I do know everything I had on reserve was completely unmoved from turn before to maximise activations and MP's were all accounted for moving over the rivers to defend but that's not important if you are saying everything looks good on my end with units keeping their status
Much bigger issue for Soviets if I look fine in that regard

Re: PBEM Unit Status Issue
I noticed behavior that could be relevant to this issue.
I have two games going in different file folders, call them Game 1 and Game 2. When I make a change to filter settings in the Commanders Report they carry over from one game to the other. This seems risky that other changes (e.g. unit status) could carry over as well.
For example in Game 1 I changed the Formation Type filter from just "Fort" to both "Fort" and "Arm". I then exited the scenario without saving, then opened Game 2 and went to the Commanders Report. The Formation Type filter had also changed to "Fort" and "Arm".
This is reproducible (for me at least) and seems to indicate Game 1 and Game 2 are sharing a disk file or memory. Could that be a problem? I think it could be if Game 1 and Game 2 were initiated in or were currently in different versions.
This behavior doesn't occur if I close the program (not just Quit and exit to the main menu) between making the CR filter changes. I recommend players do this every time they change from one game to another. I also question whether it's a good idea to have two games running at the same time.
