SWPAC has a genius in the dirty tricks department...

Post by RevRick »

otherwise, how in all that is sacred can M.Moore and Squadron 40 get the second shipment of P-38's in the theater.

Can someone tell me who "Meathead" Moore knows that he can sit in the middle of a combat zone, with his absolutely underwhelming leadership and even more scintillating inspirational qualities, which can all but ruin a fighter squadron in three days, and then get P-38's when I need them active and not hanger queening in some Aussie base next to the strip joints waiting to get their morale back up to some form of acceptable.

Even better question. When are we going to get to have some input into which squadrons get the better AC instead of letting the king of the dirty tricks department have his way?

and this guy is one of the great survivors in history. Lost every one of the great Squadron Leaders in SWPAC - and this bird is still leading the squadron - it must be from way behind because he survived everything that I could throw him into.

Besides, It is very much too soon to commit my P-38's with only two squadrons and not enough reserves built up. I need at least three if not four squadrons to put in range of Rabaul and try to dry the constant flow of Betty's and Nell's up a little bit by bombing the living (expletive deleted) out of the air base.

Rotation

Post by Heeward »

I have been told that for the USAAC there is personnel rotation so with a enough missions he’ll get to go home.

I would be nice to have the computer remove commanders for incompetence. I would hate to see that under player control as it would of course cause gamey tatics. However, to have a chance for lower leaders removal would be a nice touch.

Another thing to check into would be to see if SWPAC has record of him as being posted to the squadron (check pilot list of unit) if they don't have him listed he never will be transferred from combat (you're stuck with the dummy for the rest of the war) :p

Solution

Post by Heeward »

If you have another squadron with P-38's then either disband or withdraw the squadron. The excess aircraft will return to the pool.

Captain Moron will if withdrawn return 90 days latter with his squadron, that the computer will try to reconstitute. If disbanded , then disband him into a squadron with a superior officer, then the isn't in charge.
