[Q] Little bit grainy when I zoom-in.

Hello I'm super new, today is my first CMO day and I'm doing tutorials.

I am running CMO on MacBook Air M2 24GB Ram (16gb + 4 cpu assigned to parallel for CMO),
I'm no expert but everything is ok and the simulator runs fast.

I only notice one small problem:
. sometimes when I zoom in, most of the map is well defined but some parts remain a bit grainy.

Could it be due to CMO updates or mods?
I'm running the basic version, will buy some DLC later.

Do I need to update the software? if so how?

Hi and welcome,

I'm afraid this is a natural limitation of the map layers used by Command; none of the maps has the same level of detail as the ones used by Google, Apple, Microsoft etc.

In technical terms, the max zoom level of Command's built-in maps is level-13, which corresponds to roughly 15-20m/pixel (which is why you can make out runways at airfields etc.). The maps used by the various [X]-Maps providers go to a much higher zoom level, which is why you can make out cars and even sometimes individual persons in them.

The Stamen layers used by Command (Stamen Maps, roads, terrain etc.) are fetched from outside servers and thus do not have a "guaranteed" min/max zoom, but have occasionally provided great detail, even up to 18+ zoom level.

I'd like to be sure that is not a MacBook problem.
