Saudi Arabia

Post by klschult »

I have had both the French and the British conquer Saudi Arabia early in the game. Neither received any MPP. Not just 0 for oil but 0 for Medina and Riyadh as well.

The MPPs will be included in the country's collection at the end of the turn, but - except where this income comes via a convoy - it won't appear as a separate line.

Yes, but it doesn't do that. For Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia alone it seems, the income allocation doesn't go up.

I've just run a test in Hotseat mode using two identical campaigns, except that in one Saudi Arabia is set to start as surrendered to the UK.

In that one, the UK's base income is significantly higher than the other campaign.

There is no reason that I can see why the UK would not receive Saudi income, as Saudi resources are at strength 5 and Medina, Riyadh and the two oil wells are all set to provide MPPs.

We would be happy to look at a save file if you have one.

Thank you. I'll check again and let you know.

How do I send you a file and where do I find the save files?

Typically the files can be found here:

\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Save

If the file is too large for email, you can send via something like WeTransfer, this is a free file transfer service.

I've been looking into this further, and Saudi Arabia is set to send its income via convoy to the USA.

However, after the country's conquest by the UK, these scripts are inactive, because they are contingent on the USA being fully mobilized.

There are actually 2 convoy scripts, and one should really be set for the US being neutral, so I'll put that on my list to correct.

However, because of the existence of a convoy script, there's no foolproof way to have the convoy go to its conqueror, which means that even with my correction, the UK or France will never benefit from the extra income, just the plunder.

Although that said, with the correction the US will benefit from the income, and it can in turn use that to invest in Industrial Technology, and pass the benefit on to the UK in the shape of its own convoy to Britain.

Ok.

The system does now give France or UK the plunder and the US the income once it becomes active.

This isn't the answer I was hoping for, but I'll live. I was hoping to boost the defense of France. Conquering Ireland does that. I'd try Spain but I really don't think I can get there and back before the Germans attack France. ;)

I guess I'll try Portugal, but the MPP from Portugal might take a long time to get to break even.

Thank you.
