Start New Game Community Scenario cant find DB

Post by downtown »

Hello,

I recently came back to playing CMO after a year long hiatus. I updated to the latest version and downloaded the latest Community scenarios, CWDB and DB3000 files. I deleted the old Community folder and instaled the Community scenarios into the clean directory. I deleted the existing DB folders and installed into clean folders in Images. Now when I open CMO and Start New Game and choose any Community scenario I get the following error: ERROR: The scenario file is probably corrupted, could not determine which database to use! You have (explicitly or implicitly attempted to load a database that does not exist on the DB folder. I was able to open scenarios outside the Community folder as well as saved community scenarios. Please advise.

Thanks

FIrst off...I hope you didn't just randomly delete the entire DB directory. It has all the dbs, images, and descriptions. The game HAS to have the dbs.

No I didn't do that. I still have db files in my DB folder. They are listed as CWDB_456.db3 thru CWDB_497.db3 and DB3K_456.db3 thru DB3K_497.db3. All files have different dates, the 497 files being 11/11/2022, The description folders for CWDB and DB3K are there as well.

If you updated properly, you should have 498 and 498a. That might not be the issue with the Community scenarios, but hints that something is wrong.

Can you give an example scenario name where you are having the problem?

OK. I'm going to check what db they use.

edit...they are both db 491. Do you have that in your db directory?

edit 2: I'm assuming this is not Steam. Frankly, it sounds like directories are messed up somewhere.

Both CWDB_491 and DB3K_491 are in the DB folder. Both Dated 10/1/2021. If I need to reload the DB's how would I go about doing that?

I'm worried be you'd chasing a symptom and not the root cause. As much as I hate saying this, you should uninstall anything to do with CMO and reinstall from the full installer from the Matrix My Page. Once things are missing and folders might be messed up, you can do a lot of tail chasing and never find the solution.

I agree with thewood, I'd do a full uninstall, delete any residual files in Program Files and reinstall.

If you haven't already, verify you have the full Warplanner install files (there's two of them, part 1 and part 2) and not an older version installer. You can get them from the "My Page" area or from Here
