What are the functional differences between the Professional and Personal Edition?

What is the difference between the Personal and Professional editions, other than the database of the Professional edition? If so, is there a way to purchase the Pro version?

Southern Storm is a commercial release only. There is no Professional Southern Storm. We do have a Modern Professional version that is not available for commercial purchase. Southern Storm and the Cold War game engine benefits from many features and game engine improvements based on our professional work. As you note, the data and maps are vastly different, and there are a few features they need for what they are doing with the game that the commercial player does not need. So both sides benefit from each other.
