News?

Post by peskpesk »

Hi All.

Does anybody have any news about the development of EiA.
The summer has date has passed and we know the game is in
a test state. But what about the game it self, when?

1) Which campaings can you play?
2) Can you play any other country than the big ones... Sweden?
3) Which new options are added? Both Classical game and "extened"
4) How can you make diplomacy with a computer player?
5) Will the AI be a challange for human players?
6) Any new combat options?

We love the game.

Um, the summer is not over, however, I personally think (from all the posts I have read on this forum) that the game will not be out before November (at the earliest). I wouldn't be surprised if it is not out by Christmas. The AI is going to be very complicated to make challenging, although I hope Matrix really gives this a go.

Lack of news is bad treatment

Post by peskpesk »

I find the lack of information from Matrix games and people on the forum very sad and a little bad treatment of us other gamers.
I know the can't tell anything but the least you can expect
the offisial http://www.empiresinarmsonline.com/ to be updated.
We none beta testers should have a chance to make our voices heard, we are going to buy the game!

peskpesk,

You really are not being a pesk for posting what you've posed. ;) You are commenting on a general malaise that seems to have found life here. Maybe the guy who is responsible for keeping us informed is sick or something.

(There is someone responsible for informing us, isn't there?)

I am going to say this once more. Look we open that forums on discuss the game LONG before we are ready. The reason for doing this is to get your input. The long silence is to be expected until we get down to the wire

The testers are very busy testing which we would prefer.

David, we too want to discuss the game we you, developers and beta testers. But you and the Beta testers have the info we other lack! We can't give you any input back!
I and other gamers have played EiA for many years and we want to see the game made right. Not rush it! We too want to be allowed to give feed back to the devlopment and almost be a part of the "team". Us us as a source don't keep us out of the loop. This is we we screem for info, we can't give you feed back
else.

Plase put info here in the forum or on the EiA site, we will be eager to give you feed back.

How long does it take to post a few current screenshots and answer a few basic questions? Is everyone that is "in the know" a beta tester? Are they glued to their monitors beta testing 24/7? Aren't they getting a little bug-eyed?

For the sake of clarity:

1.) They are not being attacked.

2.) We are just asking for answers to general questions like:

What's this game really going to be like?
What's this game look like?
Is there still simultaneous movement or is it gone for good?
Will the modding of the map and units still be supported?
What are the system specifications for this game?
How is it going to be released outside the US?
Does the game have an EiA version and is there also an EiH version for us to choose to play?

Can answering those sorts questions really take all that much time? IMHO, those sorts of questions should've been answered a long time ago yet, we all were patient and supportive. When querried for input and help we did not hesitate a minute.

I for one have been consistently saying that I am for the team taking even more time --because I want it done right. I'd just like to know what it is that I am going to buy.

We are not holding out, Marshall just had a new baby and then moved into a new house. So information is going to be slow for a little bit. I will call see if we can get things moving a little better in the information area. I will admit its slower then we would like as well. The game we are hoping to be release by Late October if not it will be Early next year.

Once we talk with the testers and Marshall and I can see what needs to be done we will let you know.

For me that is fine. Thank you so much for the personal touch David. What you've said means a LOT, believe me. Silence was not golden -(here.)

I will patiently await some more answers to come our way.

Thanks again.

There is NOTHING to tell you yet!!!!

Besides the NDA prevents us from saying anything.

BUT Le Tondu, trust me on this, so far nothing really worth relating. Its all drudge work. Save and try again.

You know me man, I am not shy on sharing.

Its comming.

I have never said that beta testers should tell us anything. I am not unfamiliar with NDAs. My questions were directed to Matrix in general.

Well, I certainly can't call the following list NOTHING. Somebody knows the answers to them (right now) and that would clearly constitue something to relate. :)

What is this game really going to be like?
What does this game look like?
Is there still simultaneous movement or is it gone for good?
Will the modding of the map and units still be supported?

After all is said here, there is no need to beat me down. I already had acquiesed and said that I would wait patiently for the answers. :)

Aw c'mon. :)

David Heath did say:

If worse comes to worse, the game gets released next year. Technicaly I don't see that as such a bad problem, as you can be sure the product is going to run well.
I've worked before in the fast streamed game development market, and let me tell you, I saw a lot of **** products released that I would never imagine a professional company could ever get away with.

In any case, MG just released three new titles, I think they deserve a chance to re-couperate first yes?

Thank you, this was the kind of answer I had hope to get.
I will check every day for the new info on the EiA site.
Keep up the good work and EiA will rock.
