TF Disband System Crash

Post by bullwinklemoose57 »

Updated to the most recent version--thank you to all who really did a lot of historical updates to show correct DEC 7 information and new harbors/off map data, and better status of ships and all.

When I tried and disband TFs in Singapore on turn 1, CRASH--LOCK UP--tune 2, the same for Pearl Harbor.

THe Game freezes and you have to hard quit and reload.

I can't make it do this, not sure what is the problem.

And just to be sure, you did install the basic game, version 10097 first and then applied the 1027 patch to it?

I've had this to happen to me before. You don't want to try and use the Yes button with the mouse.
You must use the keyboard "Y" key. Does not lock up every time you try and use the mouse.

Don't use the mouse on the Yes button. Maybe it can be fixed in the next update.

Thanks for this awesome tip! I've had the same issue and was finally able to fix it.

It's a new piece of coding to help prevent the accidental disbandment of TFs (because that button is so close to other commonly used buttons). Instead of one-click disbandment the new code asks if you are sure. The Y/N keys WAD but the mouse click selection is not set up properly (you need to code the precise location of those selections on the screen). Other game choices that tell you right on the screen that only keyboard press works - i.e. the Y/N is not hypertext enabled. That should be the case for the disbandment button as well.

I had same problem but could avoid crash by doing ESC to get out of this locked Disband screen. Will try Y on keyboard next time!
