Once I plot the move I then get the pop-up to ask for the stance on arrival. Why have the extra click every time you move a unit? Why not just add a cancel option to the stance pop-up?

The first popup is to say I'm finished adding waypoints."

We separate them as so you have the option of either click the "Commit" button in the popup or you can click the unit you're giving the order to. For short moves, that's less mouse moving than going to the popup. If we combine the two popups, we'd have to get rid of committing waypoints via clicking the ordered unit.

OK thanks. I need to play the game a bit more to understand that.

Nother aspect is that Commit popup applies to Group ROders, both when playing a scenario and when making a Battle Plan. In those cases, you don't have the option to click on the unit that is a target of the order (because there's not "a" unit). Clicking on the unit when issuing a move order to a single unit is a kind of shortcut. I mostly use that, unless I have the map zoomed in and the last waypoint is far enough away from the unit that I'd have to scroll to the unit.

If the unit is displayed, I just click the unit to lock in the waypoints. I tend to zoom way out o intial orders where I might give a long movement path.

Sorry to hijack the thread but i have another question about Pop-up windows.

Sometimes when i select a unit, the SOP windows is also displayed. Sometimes not. I... do not figure out why.

Is it the Dashboard or the larger SOP Manager window? The dashboard can pop up at times if the mouse click registers a double click on the selection of the unit. Units like arty can auto-pop the window for adjustment of the fires. There is a setting for that in the game options.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
