Like to play ELO

Hello, I have been playing SCWAW for about a year.

I would like to try an ELO format game, but I have no idea what ELO means or what it consists of.

Is there a thread with this information?

Hi - ELO is a ranking ladder which EarlyDoors runs. You can read the full thread here:

ELO games have common agreed rules. These are:

No DoW on USSR before 1941
No Diplo on Majors or Bulgaria

You can also agree other rules. These tend to include no early DoW on Japan by the Allies. No Tulun exploit. And anything else which both players agree upon.

The advantage of an ELO game is that you should be playing a motivated opponent who will commit to at least a turn a day and also tell you in advance of any delays such as holidays etc. If you opponent ghosts you after a month you can claim the victory. But that is very rare.
