[FIXED] Wingman Engages But Leader Follows Plotted Course
I've been seeing in multiple scenarios when an air group with Ignore Plotted Course set to yes (either inherited or direct) is given an attack order (F1), the leader continues on with the plotted course, and the wingman attacks. When in Group view mode, the throttle settings rapidly cycle between the set attack speed (usually afterburner) and cruise or loiter.
If I move to unit mode, and select just the leader to attack (using Shift+F1), he will then target the enemy.
In the save below, I have both 2 and 4 a/c groups. Both show the same behavior.
I'm on v1.05 build 1307.9

Re: Wingman Engages But Leader Follows Plotted Course
Not only with group leaders, in the zip file I've attached two scens,
Esc 142 #5 Attack Bug.save is the same problem. Unit in a CAP mission the leader status changes between Engaged Offensive and On Plotted Course when assigned to attack (.save is the unit with the attack assignment)
10 Esc #4 Attack Bug.save. In this case a helicopter is assigned to attack a land facility via F1 (Automatic Attack) and the unit status changes between Engaged Offensive and On Plotted Course too.
The name of the files is to recognize the unit that is affected.
I don't know if this may be related but a few weeks ago I reported that a unit entering a "no comm zone" (the unit lost comm when entering the zone) "lost it's path" and looking closely you could see the same behaviour (the unit status changes between On Plotted Course and Engaged Offensive) but in this case the unit has no orders to engage any enemy unit. Re: Wingman Engages But Leader Follows Plotted Course
I reported this months ago and it is fixed in the "release" branch as of 1307.14. However, FYI, there is now a similar problem in the beta, which I also reported in that thread.CrackSabbath wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 3:43 am I've been seeing in multiple scenarios when an air group with Ignore Plotted Course set to yes (either inherited or direct) is given an attack order (F1), the leader continues on with the plotted course, and the wingman attacks. It gets very confusing if you keep reporting issues in different builds/versions across the forums. This is going in a couple topics.

I'm on 1307.14 and the behaviour is not fixed.boogabooga wrote: Fri May 12, 2023 1:55 amI reported this months ago and it is fixed in the "release" branch as of 1307.14. Beta has its own "tech support". It's what we are supposed to do.thewood1 wrote: Fri May 12, 2023 2:05 am It gets very confusing if you keep reporting issues in different builds/versions across the forums. This is going in a couple topics.

I thought he was reporting the beta issue here.

He said that he is on 1307.9. That is neither beta nor the latest release version,

Re: Wingman Engages But Leader Follows Plotted Course
I know. I missed that.
Re: Wingman Engages But Leader Follows Plotted Course
I'm running 1307.14 and have noticed this behavior also. I just change the plotted course and its not really an issue...unless you don't like micro-managing.

Re: Wingman Engages But Leader Follows Plotted Course
Well, heck, I thought I had the latest patch. I just installed build 1307.14 and it seems to be fixed, at least on one quick test using the same scenario.
I'll open a new thread if I run into it again, and I'll be more thorough in insuring I have the latest patch.
Apologies if I wasted anyone's time.
Game on, my friends!

I'll mark this as fixed. Let me know if the issue persists
