Fort Level Shields

Post by Der Kuenstler »

Below is a screenshot of the vanilla Fort Levels over some Soviet units. Graphically these symbols give you no clue what they are - their meaning has to just be memorized. The black "knobs" that protrude from the circles are redundant, since the number in the circle already tells you the fort level. The knobs only take up space, and often cover up counter information that would otherwise be useful.

After: here the old fort level symbols are replaced by shields, which are immediately recognized as defense. The shields are sleek, providing just enough room for the number and covering less map space. They are repositioned in order to allow the counter info below to be easily seen.

Just place the contents of this file in your Dat/Art/Units folder after backing up your four original files.

5/15/23: Cleaned up version (Removed a black speck that appeared above the shields on map.)
