Submarines as controllable ships

Post by stadl0r »

Hello,

Forgive me if this is something that has come up in the past. I am very much enjoying RTW3 at the moment but wondering what the possibility might be of making submarine class ships apart of the controllable and designed ship interface. This could be abstracted to have surface or submerged states and allow for stealth units to participate in naval battles. I recognise there are games that do this otherwise like Wolfpack, but feel like it could add a very interesting dynamic to RTW3 battles since submarines are there already as a more automated role.

Thanks for the suggestion - its something that we have considered in the past and may again.

It's a pleasure! That is amazing you have considered it. I feel as though it would scratch the itch for many submarine wargamers that has only been done in the time period with John Tiller's Wolfpack Naval campaigns game. It could be used in the same way now as ships are given trade protection status.

Otherwise amazing job on the game and thank you for being receptive / responsive! :D
