Rail repair

It seems now that a rail repair crew fixes double rail at the same speed as it fixes single rail. Realistically it should take longer to fix twice the rail, don't you think?

It would make more sense (and be more interesting) if you could repair single rail faster than double rail, with the long term consequence of having less capacity. (Not twice as fast, but maybe 50% faster or so, since your crew and equipment is there already.)

That's a great idea and would add some strategic depth to the decision of whether you want to advance a small force quickly or a larger force at a more deliberate pace. My one suggestion would be to make it optional, in the case of double tracked rail, to only repair one side. This would proceed just as fast as repairing single rail, and would give you the option of coming back later and completing the other side as well.

This would turn repairing the double rail from Brest-Litovsk to Minsk in one go a job taking up until the last week of July (turn 6)...

How long did it take historically?

I suspect that converting a double line didn't take twice as long as a single as a lot of the work is the logistics of moving everything into place. Once you have a section of one line done, the line next to it can be easily reached. So maybe 25% longer?
