Mission settings, operation planning, triggers for units w/ multiple missions assigned questions

Post by fatgreta1066 »

Hi,

If I understand the operations planner correctly, I should be able to order a unit that is part of a package inside a task pool to participate in a strike mission and then a patrol mission (or vice versa)? Here's where I've come to so far. I have a task pool with many units called SEAD. I'm creating packages within that task pool for specific DEAD strikes against known radar and SAM sites. I want to have units that have munitions remaining after all the assigned targets are destroyed (or who are inbound for the strike when the last target is destroyed) switch over to a SEAD patrol I've created over the area. So I have a package for the strike, and a package for the patrol. I assign units to both packages. Have I got that right so far?

I believe that after that, I need to set the patrol mission to trigger when the strike mission is finished? When that happens any AC with available munitions will go on patrol? And I could also assign units to the patrol that are not part of any other mission, and they would launch when the mission triggers?

In the mission settings for the strike I can choose what AC do after the targets are destroyed. Choices are continue mission or RTB. Would whatever choice I make there impact them switching to the patrol mission?

Thanks,

Chris
