Sirte H2H only?

Post by Phoenix100 »

I thought the Sirte scenarios were the only ones with scripting so far, but they're shown now as 'H2H' - which I believe means H2H only, no? Is this an error? Thanks.

You can play them H2H or against the AI, seems to be an error.

Best results are playing as Side A

I was suprised by the H2H description, too. Even in the manual it is stated as H2H only.

But I can definitively say that it can be played as the British. In fact, I have failed twice already to beat the Libyans. It's a great scenario though!

Thank you for your kind comments, Sunbather, I put the Sirte scenarios together to have some fun with the latest gear East has against West. As for the scenario description, Jason is correct in that I had indeed forgotten to update the scenario introduction.

Here's how they should be:
  • Sirte #1: H2H/SIDE AB (or is that: ALL)
    Sirte #2 H2H/SIDE A
    Sirte #3 H2H/SIDE B
    Sirte #4 H2H/SIDE A
Sirte #1, Prelude, is indeed scripted for both sides. The Event Engine has battle plans at Company level, and playing Side B vs CSEE controlled Side A has the computer player with various options to attack their objectives. That said, CSEE takes somewhat longer to complete the Air assault than a human player and thus has got a little bit less time to do so.

The remaining scenarios are not that heavily scripted for battle plans, so the old recommendation to play against a computer player on Defense stands. For Sirte #3, Riptide, if you play Side B, then the computer player will not use their gunships optimally. Gunships in general are at least on my experience the most difficult aspects to have performing optimally under CSEE instructions.

^ This said, Sirte#3 might be the one to retain its H2H recommendation. I will need to think about this.

Scenario descriptions to be updated for the next UPDATE. Thank you for bringing this to our - and my - attention!
