Convoys to China

Post by ncc1701e »

Finishing one last PBEM game, I don't understand why China can't receive supplies by Allies convoy.

When the game is starting, China has no access to any port in the China sea. As such, all convoys are blocked. There is no issue with that. Hong Kong will be captured right away and it is owned by UK anyway.

But, in 1945, China has now recaptured three ports on the China sea. And it needs PP to continue its progressing in the North.

I have PP and transports on US side. As such, I am setting up a convoy.

But it fails with the error message: "No rail or convoy connection to ally".

I was thinking it was because the convoy routes were shutdown for US side (something I am always doing on the first turn). But even with all the convoy routes activated, I have still this error message: "No rail or convoy connection to ally".

But, if I am checking the map, the South China Sea convoy lane is arriving in Hong Kong and in Foochow. As such, why no Allies convoy could go to China if they own these ports?

Doesn't there have to be a connection to the receiving countries capitol? I seem to remember that being an issue before. I agree in your scenario you should be able to but if it has to go to a capitol since there is no rail connection to Chinas capitol it would never be able to happen.

Beijing is already captured by Japanese at scenario start. So, where is the capitol at the beginning?

Chungking, maybe? Historically, I think of Chungking, but I could be wrong.

Maybe, I don't know. Is there any in-game indication that could tell us where is the capitol of a given country?
