My last PBEM

Finishing my last PBEM on Warplan Pacific, the Sunk Ships table is just showing how unbalance raider vs fleet mode is.

My Japanese opponent almost always used fleet mode. I mainly used Raider mode.

See the result, May 20th, 1945. I have sunk the entire Japanese navy. Japan has only sunk one BB division. The Pennsylvania was sunk at Pearl Harbor the first turn.

During the whole Pacific war, we had several naval engagements. Never my Japanese opponent was able to sunk anything, damaged yes, sunk no.

Raider mode is just too powerful.

May depend on how your opponent plays.

Most of my games are the opposite, though again that could say something.

So you are sinking the entire US navy using mostly Fleet mode, congratulations.

He should be avoiding combat early on. Realize the Japanese foolishly split their forces constantly. We have hindsight. They could have brought 8 CVs to Midway. Instead they brought 5 with one staying with the transport fleet.
