Unassigned Units Selection Box

I'm new to CMO and working through the tutorials but I can't get past the second Air Warfare Tutorial - Unattended Flight. It's a simple mission that sends a flight of 2/F16s to a patrol area. I'm using Steam Edition V1.05 - Build 1307.18.

I create the patrol area but I don't see the split screen box that lets me move unassigned units to assigned in order to complete creating the mission. I have watched a number of YouTube tutorials and I see the screen mentioned in the CMO tutorial I'm trying to follow but those are all older versions of CMO. Has something changed or am I missing a setting? Is there another way to assign units to a mission?

I tried that but it doesn't seem to connect the units to the patrol zone I want them to fly to. I have attached the screen I see in various tutorials that assign units to missions. Unassigned units are on the right and the left arrow assigns them to the mission.

Is this no longer used in the current version?

The units get assign on the units tab and has been that way for a little while. The patrol area is assign on the mission settings tab.
