ROF of Mounts

I noticed that something has changed in the way weapons and mounts work. It used to be the ROF followed the mount so you could change the ROF of the weapon simply by putting in into a different mount. Now it seems that now longer works that way. Is there a chance to change it back? It was a nice feature when it worked that way.
