static british infantry in invasion ports

Post by BrianG »

Just having a go at the AI (hehe) computer, and there seems to be 2 British infantry divisions on static in 2 of the large British ports used to invade Normandy.

So, it seemed a bit odd when both static divisions decided to tag along with the invasion fleet. I had set it up to look like Overlord, same divisions. They had also prepped to over 50, even though static. I could not unfreeze them (perhaps they unfreeze in June 44).

I invaded last week May 44'.

Was there any way to not have them tag along. Seems to me these ports should be free for troops heading into action.

Hello Mr. Brain G. I believe if you only highlight the active division then the static division will not participate in invasion. A sure way to avoid any headache is to move your naval Task Force along with its corresponding infantry division to a clear port. There are many in England / UK so not a problem to do so. Just make sure the port is 2 or better so that transport capacity is 30 or greater. Infantry divisions with 3 attached support units can get larger than fifteen transport cost.

Good luck with your AI game.
