When to retreat

Post by DKF12 »

Rangoon
06/05/42
Japanese 19907 troops AV 319
Allies 30490 troops AV 949
Japanese assault odds 1 to 99 fort level 0
My question is when should I bug out to Prome
Supplies starting to get low 11074 required 6353
I can get supplies in if willing to lose AKL’s
Should I stand and bleed the Japanese or retreat and save 25K troops
Thanks

I suppose it depends on whether you're playing the AI or a human. Against the AI you can usually tough it out in Rangoon. It does a so-so job of interdicting the sea route. But, a Japanese human player, in addition to besieging Rangoon will usually start vigorously blocking all the exit routes. Land and sea. If you detect a lot of AV marching towards Prome and the upper Irrawaddy river it might be time to bug-out.

Great advice
The AI has taken Aiyana and Cox’s Bazar. I can still get out thru Prome. I’ve noticed that when then fortifications drop to zero even a smaller force can capture the city. Orders received bugging out next move. Can’t have 30K troops go to prison of war camps
