Mining Bases and Ships and Mining Engines

The question is, if you put a large and a small mining engine on a Mining Bases or a Mining Ship, will they mine more as with only a single large mining engine? its difficult to tell from watching only.

Or will they interfere and only one work? And for Bases or Ships that mine in Asteroids..the large one mines in a radius, what if you have at same time a small one here?

They will mine more. You can see mining rate when you design a ship in the industry tab.
